We are pleased to confirm that we have completed the sale of our 50-acre land holding at Cefn Yr Hendy in Miskin to Taylor Wimpey South Wales.
We originally secured outline planning permission for the development of up to 460 properties from Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council in 2018.
Having now purchased the land, Taylor Wimpey plans to deliver a mixture of two, three and four bedroom detached homes, in addition to 92 properties for members of the local community in housing need.
The outline planning permission also proposes the delivery of a primary school, a 200 sqm local centre, a communal play area and large area of green open space.
Jack Abou-Jaoude, Senior Development Manager, commented:
‘Opportunities such as this rarely come to market, particularly in Llantrisant where there is a strong demand for housing.
‘All parties involved have played a significant part in setting this site up for what will clearly be a huge success, and we are delighted to have concluded the sale to Taylor Wimpey who will now take it forward.’
Richard Price, Land and Planning Director at Taylor Wimpey South Wales, said:
‘We are absolutely delighted to have completed the purchase of Cefn Yr Hendy. It represents a significant new development for our business and we would like to thank everyone involved in helping us secure this amazing site.
‘We are now focused on ensuring our plans will integrate successfully with the existing environment, and are equally committed to investing in the local community.’
When the reserved matters approval is granted, as well as providing much needed new homes and community facilities in Miskin, Taylor Wimpey will also make financial contributions to Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, which will go towards improving local amenities and infrastructure.
